They are identical (mono/di/di). Thanks to everyone who encouraged me to test them, I probably would not have without my wonderful MoM friends on the Bump who said they are identical. My husband said "no way" and the pediatrician said "definitely fraternal."
So, what did we learn today? Moms know everything. Well I was always waffling. But something illogical deep down inside told me that they were identical.
The news is kind of exciting, although it really doesn't make any difference. It does mean that I have less of a genetic predisposition to having twins again. On the other hand I still have a maternal family history of fraternal twins and I am 35. So I am going to be careful about making any sweeping statements. I never know what my ovaries have in store.
