FWIW - I think that it is a good idea to pack your husband's bag because you will suffer too if he doesn't have these things.
Having had an unexpected c-section, I wish that I had packed pants that would not irritate my incision the last time. The perfect pants for this were the Old Navy fold-over yoga pants. You don't know bra size until your milk comes in but I was really glad to have a sleep bra in my pre-pregnancy size and a nursing tank as well.
Also, after a day of being pumped full of chemicals for the failed induction, I really wished that I had some hard candy because my mouth tasted terrible and tooth paste didn't really help.
