Today has given me quite a bit to think about. Mostly how lucky I am. That I still have my own mother to be annoyed by. That she has her mother who will meet her third and fourth great-grandchildren soon (although she won't be very interested in them until they are old enough to drink with her). That I have some great friends who are already mothers, including mothers of twins, who remind me that this is all worth it and that I will survive. That I have great friends who are pregnant and sharing this journey with me.
I am thankful for this opportunity to be a mother and I am thinking of my friends today who are mothers to babies that they cannot hold, and of my friends who have mothers who are no longer with them. And I am thankful for my husband who got me two perfect little cupcakes - one from each baby. (pictured under the beautiful flowers)
