A Letter to my Baby

Hamilton-

Somehow that short minute between your birth and your brothers has made you a baby brother, and maybe someday, a middle child. In my heart, I know your role will be the middle child because you will be our heart. You are the most delightful baby, sweet, cuddly, and patient. I have always believed that babies can hear the voice of God and unlike adults still know how to listen. Watching you I know now that belief is true.

Without you where would we be? If we had one baby, I wouldn't need your dad's help so much, and his role as a parent would be far less active. Because of you, our marriage is stronger, you dad is growing into an amazing father, and I am realizing that I can accomplish more than I ever dreamed. You are a perfect sign of abundance.

I am loving every minute of watching you grow: your delight in your brother; your calm in the face of his determination; and your ease with everyone you meet. I can see already that the world is full of your friends. That is an amazing trait. I hope I remember to thank God for you every day. You are the perfect gift.

Love,
Mommy
