In the beginning March 2008

After 7 1/2 years of dating, minus a year-and-a-half in the middle, my handsome husband Mr. Twincu a/k/a, Mr. T. and I married in March of 2008.

It was a beautiful ceremony. Everything that was really important to us about that day was realized. All of our parents were there, as was my grandmother, who God-bless her is so well-preserved by nicotine that she will out live us all. Mr. T.'s childhood priest traveled from his hometown to be at the ceremony and read the prayers. My childhood priest was there to officiate. Most importantly, the rector of our current parish, who was about to switch churches, was still there and gave the homily. I am not sure if I truly appreciated on that day what a blessing it was to have a homily given by someone who knew us both. Instead of being generic and trite, the sermon was about us and our families and was a message equally shared with the two of us, and everyone present, about our intention to enter into a Christian marriage.

I do not think that there have been many days in my life where I have felt the hand of God touch me personally, but I knew he was there that day and I felt blessed.
