That Was a Mistake Tuesday

Many mommy bloggers seek to be the next Dooce and make a living off of their blog and others use their blog to pimp their professional services as a baker/photographer/ETSY seller. Even more strike a combination of the two. I don't cast judgement on the people who make money off of their blogs, because I don't feel any, but I have noticed that as soon as a blog becomes a funds source that the nature and focus of the blog changes. Most notably the blogger feels obligated to write routinely, even when they have nothing interesting to say, and many posts weave in a hard sell, while trying to remain true to the bloggers original topic. Some bloggers handle this well, others not so much.

I make absolutely no money off of my blog and with my new Tuesday feature I plan to make even less. I am not a sales person. What I do well, other than gestate twins, is b!tch and complain. My love for complaining has generated my desire to serve the public in a new way, other than attempting to be entertaining. I am going to review products that I hate, or aren't what they are cracked up to be. I'll start with this failed wedding gift.

The El-Paso Chile: 10056 Marg-a-rama was a self purchased wedding gift that I hoped would make delicious frozen margaritas. Instead it makes nasty watered down cold beverages with huge chunks of ice floating in them. It is also so loud that when I turned it on my completely housetrained dog peed on the carpet because she though that it was the vacuum finally opening up to eat her. (This is her biggest fear in life - along with having her @ss kicked by a squirrel) If you read reviews of this product in Amazon.com, which were not available when I purchased it, you will see that one woman believes that her ownership of this item ruined Christmas for her entire family. You can read her awesome review here.

I don't know about that? But owning this was supposed to make spending Christmas with my family bearable and it did not. I wanted to resell this on Ebay to an unsuspecting person. I felt that a potential buyer has the ability to read reviews of this and see that it is a piece of crap. Unfortunately my husband didn't want to be around for the karmic fall back of this action. So he gave me $5 for it, which is exactly what it is worth, and then threw it out.
